How We Pay The Bands

You may have noticed that clicking on “Now Playing” takes you to a different website called Live365. What’s up with that?

Unlike your local FM radio stations, Internet radio is required by law to pay performance royalties for every song you hear and for every other listener who hears each song, too. Fair enough. If you enjoy an artist’s music, they ought to make money from the art they created for you.

If we took care of those artist royalty payments ourselves, however, not only would inundated with paperwork, we’d have to pay thousands in administrative fees before we ever paid your favorite artists a cent. Live365 does that paperwork for us and many other independent Internet radio stations and lets us share in the cost together for those government-sanctioned administrative fees. In order to do that, however, we have to stream to you from Live365.
